Years ago my wonderful bride bought me a copy of Bill Simmons’ book, The Book of Basketball: The NBA According to the Sports Guy. A wildly ambitious book that reinforced my belief that some people are simply more committed than others.

Years before that, I picked up on Malcolm Gladwell in his New York Times days making Dockers Khakis interesting. Then came The Tipping Point and I was hooked on all things MG.

Imagine my surprise to find out that these two titans of the non-sequitur actually published some email exchanges they’ve had around sports!

I read this one last Friday and if you have the time, it’s an excellent, wide-ranging rant that covers LeBron, the origins of the internet, Ted Bundy and jockosophers.

The Exchange: Gladwell vs Simmons IV

Enjoy.
