Optimizing Emails for ‘Images Not Displayed’

This is the blocking and tackling of email marketing.

Among the thousands of messages I get in my email are many, many offers.

Here’s a good one from Land’s End.

This is my favorite part:

The preview. It’s what most of your users will see before they ever get to the awesomeness that is your art department’s offer.

The subject line ties into the content preview text. (Although my first thought was “Land’s End Running Shoes?”)

There are 14 links in the preview – and I know what will happen when I click them.

That’s making it easy. And what you would expect from the direct marketing gurus at LE.

Maximize click throughs. Find more leads. Find more sales.

How do you go about this? Take the pic down to your creative team and say “I need this email to look like this when it comes into our customer’s email box.” If that doesn’t work because you don’t have a creative team or you ARE the creative team, send me a note and I’ll point you in the right direction.

What if you don’t do retail? Well. . .that’s my point. Land’s End makes it easy for customers to engage, you should be doing the same. Especially in B2B. Be user friendly.

Good stuff.
